Deuteronomy 33:2-3 King James Version (KJV) "And he said, The Lord came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he shined forth from mount Paran, and he came with ten thousands of saints: from his right hand went a fiery law for them. Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words."
It should bless us to know and
realize that we are a blessed people!
Moses, speaking of God says:
1-"Yea, He loved the people.
2-"All His saints are in His hand."
3-"They (the people, His saints) sit at His feet and receive His words."
#1 - It is a blessing to know... that God has His people on His heart! "Yea, He loved the people." The are so many examples in the Bible that show to us the love that God has for His people. Here are just a very few... The most familiar, memorized and quoted scripture verse of God's love would probably be John 3:16. "For God so loved that world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” ... “But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.”
1 John 4:19
"We love because he first loved us."
#2 - It is a blessing to know... that God has His people in His hand! When the storms of life rage, when the difficult and challenging trials come our way, when Satan rears his ugly head and tries to attack our lives, aren't you thankful that God has you in His hands? Oh the feeling of love and security when God tightens His might hand!
#3 - It is a blessing to.... sit at Jesus feet!
"They sat at His feet and received His words."
***At the feet of Jesus is a place of revelation. Luke 10:38-42 "As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!” “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” ***At the feet of Jesus is also a place of worship. John 11:32 states that Mary fell at the feet of Jesus and worshipped Him. "Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died." ***At the feet of Jesus we will also find a place of praise. There is a wonderful account in the scriptures of Luke 17:11-19 where Jesus healed 10 lepers. "Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy[a] met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan. Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.” ***At the feet of Jesus is the perfect place of prayer. In the Gospels, Matthew, Mark and Luke is recorded the story of Jarius the synagogue ruler. Mark 5:22 "And, behold, there cometh one of the rulers of the synagogue, Jairus by name; and when he saw him, he fell at his feet,"
Closing thoughts.....there are times when God picks us up and holds us to His bosom. (The bosom is the breast or chest area of the body. It is also poetically considered to be the place where our feelings reside) (intimate) Isaiah 40:11 says, "He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."
Friends,
when the Red Seas and the River Jordans come,
know that the beloved and the blessed
of our Lord will dwell in safety....
between His shoulders, on His heart,
in His hands and at His feet.
Amen?
